Christine Kuo from Toronto crowned. "Miss Chinese International Pageant 2009" in Foshan.

Organized by TVB, jointly presented by Foshan Media Group, Foshan Television(FSTV), the much-awaited “Miss Chinese International Pageant 2009” (MCIP) is held successfully on 17th January (Sat) at Foshan’s Media Center. 28 beauties from all over the world competed against one another to make their dreams come true. After getting through rounds of tough challenges, the results have finally come in! Christine Kuo (No.24) from Toronto is crowned the “Miss Chinese International 2009” with her stunning figure and flute performance in the sessions of swimsuit catwalk and talent show. The first-runner up and the second runner-up went to the other two beauties, Skye Chan (No.10, Hong Kong) and Cici Chen (No.26, Vancouver) respectively. Skye also obtained the award of “Miss Friendship” while Julie Lam (No. 25) from Tübingen took “Miss Young”!

Hosted by the quick-witted TV presenter Eric Tsang and his eloquent sidekick Li Ho Lam, this year’s MCIP marked moon, sun, star, flame and rainbow as the themes of competition part by part, symbolizing the vividness and genuine beauty of the 28 delegates. The show first began with the songs by the talented Hong Kong singer Corinna K. Chamberlain. 28 beauties then greeted the auidences with a shimmering lace-up gothic style gown. After the self-introduction session, the 28 beauties came upon the stage again by the six guest performers Bosco Wong, Jaime Fong, Ng Ka Lok, Bianca Wu, Ron Ng and Grace Wong to perform songs and dances, proudly to show off the results of hard practice! Next the audiences were all the more on for the swimsuits catwalk session! No one could take their eyes off the runway while 28 beauties were catwalking in their hand-picked swimsuits.

Followed the second half competition the eight finalists changed into splendid ruby evening gowns in the Q&A session, exerting themselves to showcase wisdom and knowledge beyond tension and anxiety. After series of challenges, only five contestants were qualified to enter the final round. The finalists utilized all their performing genes during the ultimate talent competition challenges to pursue for the championship. The witty but undersized host Eric Tsang also delivered a crazy comedic dance with the slender Oceane Zhu (Miss Chinese International Pageant 2008) and Aileen Xu (Miss Chinese International Pageant 2nd Runner-up 2008), which made the whole theatre burst into laughter. The jury is composed of Mr. Feng Shaoxie, Mrs. Angel S.P. Chan Lau, BBS, Mr. Kevin Cheng, Ms. Susanna Kwan, Mr. Gallen Lo

Oceane Zhu is the winner of the Miss China Europe Pageant in 2007 and the Miss Chinese International 2008. After the selection, she obtains six years contract by TVB Broadcast Hong Kong(visual broadcast Limited company). In this year, she got different performance opportunities. Several months ago she participated in a Taiwan movie, and played the main role. At the same time, she has also played in Raymond Lam's new MTV "Spouse and Sea" etc. We are really proud to see Ocean Zhu doing excellent in the show business.

Last but not least, this year’s Most Popular Male Singer Leo Ku and the Most Popular Female Singer Miriam Yeung were also invited to perform and cheer for the contestants that night!
